The Connection Community Precinct, Rhodes, NSW
The Connection is a newly built multi-purpose community precinct overlooking the Parramatta River that cost $21 million. The Connection caters for a wide range of community activities and consists of four unique buildings. The Meeting Space has four versatile rooms for small groups; The Learning Space is an e-resource centre; The Event Space caters for more than 300 guests and The Digital Gallery provides space for digital art exhibitions. The precinct also has a restaurant and café on the waterfront, landscaped external spaces for entertainment, seating and a water-play area.
Project Design Brief
The outdoor areas cater for a variety of activities that require cables for power, lighting, communications and CCTV cameras for security. The designers specified various pavement finishes to delineate the different spaces and needed secure cable enclosures for the underground services.
