Barangaroo Reserve, Sydney, NSW
Barangaroo Reserve is Sydney’s most famous renewed foreshore parkland marking the transformation of one of the city’s oldest industrial harbour sites. Central to this refurbishment is the conversion of a concrete container terminal into a landscaped rocky headland comprising over 75,000 native trees and shrubs, which today forms part of a spectacular six-hectare recreational open space.
Project Design Brief
Additional underground cable infrastructure was introduced to support new power, lighting, communications and CCTV coverage, with utility enclosures positioned along its cable routes. Designers specified a number of access covers in the pavement to suit a mix of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. All covers had to be secure and easy to lift for maintenance staff.
