Parque Apartments, St Kilda, VIC

Parque Apartments is an elite multi-level residential development comprising 332 luxury apartments located on 6,000 square metres of heritage-protected parkland with 150 year-old Elm Trees. The prestigious building has 360-degree views of the parklands below, Port Phillip Bay and Albert Park Lake as well as Melbourne city.

The development comprises two curved glass towers connected by a low-rise podium in the centre to preserve views of the War Memorial’s Shrine of Remembrance when viewed from Central Melbourne. The complex also has landscaped gardens, 25-metre infinity pool and a clubhouse with library, function room, dining room and kitchen with distant views of the city.

Project Design Brief

A new transformer was required to power the new development and was located below ground level facing St Kilda Road. Designers needed access to the transformer for future maintenance and / or replacement and wanted a discreet access cover and frame system.

ACO's Solution

  • Rhinocast multi-part cover 16-part with 40mm deep stainless steel decorative edge
  • ACO Technical Services provided the structural engineer with a detailed rebate and beam drawing for the 16-part access cover to be incorporated into the concrete slab

Benefits

  • Stainless steel decorative edge is 40mm deep and enables pavers to be bedded into the multi-part cover to maintain pavement aesthetics
